So what started as a friendly snowball fight might have escalated a bit. From today until the 9th of May head over to the Tower of Trials and try our new partner map this time with CozyVerse. A map filled with cozy penguins and lots and lots of snow.
Today we also say goodbye to the Mad and… what? He says he is not leaving yet? What you mean he still has a bone to pick? Oh fine. You get to play the MadSkullz map until the 2nd of May.
As mentioned before the Tower is a location with time-limited events based on other worlds. Each map is uniquely crafted based on the lore of these worlds and will have a different game style per map.
You can participate in map challenges by buying an entry ticket to enter a daily event and winning $AVAX prizes based on your performance. Time to show your skills!
If you never tried any of the maps have a look below for more details on how to start. If you are already a pro skip ahead for some details on this new map.
Firstly, head to https://play.portalfantasy.io/ to start your adventure in the world of Portal Fantasy. You will need to at least play up to the end of the battle tutorial (fight school quest) to be able to access the tower.
The other thing you need to do (if you haven’t already) is associate an AVAX wallet with your account. You do so by going to the Vault (button on the top right corner).
You can quickly check if you are connected there or not, since you won’t see the Tower Keeper if you aren’t.
After you speak with the Tower Keeper, you will be teleported to the Tower’s entrance lobby where you will see several NPCs and other players.
To start an event, simply talk to Mr. Waddles (CozyVerse Polar Peaks), Mad (Welcome to Skullz City) or Dokkaebi (Mask Madness).
After you speak to Mr. Waddles you can start the hunt. The first attempt is free, and it does not count for the event scoreboard (consider it a free look). After that, you can buy a ticket in the vault for 0.1 AVAX. Mr. Waddles can direct you to it.
In the “Cozyverse Polar Peaks” map you will have 2 minutes to find as many Magic Pebbles that are scattered all over. Seems easy right? WRONG. The snowball battle got a bit out of hand and now there are traps and snowball cannons all over. Better get those dodge skills out.
Any magical pebble collected when you return to the tower lobby is worth 10 points.
Every event session runs for 24 hours and ends at 0:00 UTC every day from 25th of April to 8th of May.
Note: There is a 5-minute period of grace before the results get published and the prizes distributed. Only tickets for that event used before the timer is over will count for the leaderboard.
Each event prize pool starts with 0.5 AVAX and 0.08 AVAX is added for each ticket purchase.
At the end of the event, the pool prize total is distributed according to the highest score achieved by each player:
- 1st place — 40% of the pool
- 2nd place — 20% of the pool
- 3rd place — 15% of the pool
- 4th place — 10% of the pool
- 5th place — 5% of the pool
- Everyone else — 10% divided equally between all participants
After the 5 minutes are over, you can claim your winnings in the vault or leave them for later if you prefer to claim all your prizes together.
There are some advantages for those who play the main adventure of Portal Fantasy a bit more. Without revealing too much, we can only say:
- Fulfilling the requests of Mr. Flippers might be quite rewarding.
- If you played the full version you might know how some secret areas work
- Hope you dig this map. 😉
