NEO officially became the first-ever blockchain member of the Microsoft .NET Foundation.

Earlier this week, the decentralized open source blockchain application platform was revealed to join the .NET Foundation during the .NET Conference.

The Microsoft-developed, globally leading open-source foundation stated:

“Looking at the shared open-source heritage between NEO and the .NET Foundation, we know that we will empower millions of developers worldwide to build the foundation for the next generation of the Internet.”

The partnership was announced a little after NEO released a blockchain toolkit for .NET and NEO Express in the beginning of the month.

Microsoft’s .NET Foundation just got a lot more exciting

According to the announcement, NEO shared a preview of its newly-developed blockchain toolkit during the conference. The preview showed the inclusion of many apps like a Smart contract debugger, the NEO Express Visual DevTracker and many more.

Erik Zhang, the Founder of NEO stated:

“We are very glad to be the first blockchain project which joins the .NET Foundation. As we continue to move forward, we expect to continue to closely collaborate with the .NET Foundation to be able to deliver the most developer-friendly blockchain infrastructure for .NET developers.”

NEO 3.0’s full-scale launch is also approaching rapidly. Both NEO and the .NET Foundation are making sure they are taking the necessary precautions to embrace the smart economy of the future via the development of a strong foundation for the next generation Internet together with their community of countless developers worldwide.

NEO’s upcoming upgrade is only one of many that blockchain enthusiasts can be excited about. Recently, EOS completed its first hard fork as it was the blockchain’s largest update so far.

TRON’s Sun Network solution, which according to rumors will give TRON infinite scaling possibilities is also on the horizon.
