Extra Mile the Japanese-based mobile and blockchain gaming company has teamed up with Tokyo’s TV Asahi Group to launch a Web3 accelerator program focused on blockchain games.
The two companies will collaborate to support Web3 game developers through incubation and publishing, as well as, community marketing and token support.
According to the press material shared with NFTgators on Thursday, TV Asahi group has also extended the invitation to other industry participants interested in joining including investors, IP holders and blockchain service providers.
As a part of the incubation package, TV Asahi plans to connect Web3 game developers with licensors and anime production committees owning IP for music, video, and other multimedia, with additional post-launch support provided in the form of mentorship and advisory services.
“Negotiating IP rights is one of the greatest barriers games developers face due to the cost and complexity of a domain that lies outside their speciality,” the companies wrote in a press release.
TV Asahi wants to make that task easier, also adding that the post-launch support will increase the chances of success for incubated projects. “This will maximize the prospects of the game attracting audiences across key target markets and regions, including traditional gamers and web3 users.”
The program will support selected gaming projects through all stages of development from the ideation and research stage to the alpha and beta releases, including support in designing a gaming token and integration of NFTs.
The first beneficiary of TV Asahi group’s blockchain gaming incubator, Neobred, an NFT horse racing and breeding game is due for launch soon, the company said in a statement.
This announcement comes ahead of TV Asahi Group’s scheduled appearance as a partner in the TEAMZ WEB3 / AI SUMMIT 2024 on April 13-14. The company plans to reveal more details about its blockchain gaming venture during the summit.
