from my understanding on how plasma works, you send your tokens to a gateway contract where they are locked up. an event is then fired that is detected by an oracle which in turn assigns the tokens to the user on the plasma chain. is this the only way to transfer assets between the main chain and plasma chains?

is the use of a decentralized oracle, such as chain link possible?

Investigating the loom network, i was unable to find out how their oracle worked, so I’m assuming it is centralized. Does the centralization of the oracle make loom and similar platforms no better than a centralized server? if loom wanted to, could they withdraw assets by sending a request from their oracle that wasn’t backed by and deposit on the other chain?
